ABOUT MY APPROACH

As an intern with Kula Wellness Group, I value collaborating with and empowering my clients to achieve wholeness and wellness in their day to day life. In sessions with me, my goal is that clients will feel heard, valued, and understood. I pride myself in providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere that individuals can step into on their best days, worst days, and every day in between. My hope is that through our therapeutic relationship, clients will walk away from our sessions feeling as though they were accepted and met exactly where they were from the moment they walked in.

In my therapeutic approach, I empower clients by utilizing mindfulness techniques that aid in their life by learning and practicing skills like meditation, self-compassion, and radical acceptance. I also integrate theories such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) into sessions by walking alongside clients as they reframe negative thought patterns and learn distress tolerance skills that work for them and that they feel confident in applying throughout their day as needed. In the therapeutic process, I also hope to hold my clients accountable by reminding them of what brought them to the space where they decided to choose their mental health and well-being as a priority in their life. I collaborate with clients on their goals and work with them to meet those goals within a space and time that works best for them.

My clients most often are working through issues such as processing grief, anxiety, depression, and disordered eating. Regardless of the reasons that my clients choose to begin therapy, my main focus is in facilitating a space where they feel that they are in control and safe while determining what paths of healing work best for them. My approach can best be defined as person-centered and client-led.
