About the Role

This is a part-time, independent contractor position. Schedule will be collaboratively determined by owners and contractor.

This is a hybrid role: classes will be varied between our two office locations in Decatur and Peachtree Corners, along with online classes via Zoom. There is additional potential for offsite yoga classes in the Metro Atlanta area.

This position reports directly to the Co-CEOs of Kula Wellness Group.

Job Responsibilities

- Adequately preparing for teaching group yoga classes (based on the Kula Wellness Group Therapeutic Yoga model)
- Leading more personalized yoga classes in small groups and private/semi-private classes (based on the Kula Wellness Group Therapeutic Yoga model)
- Creating a personal connection within the therapeutic relationship with each student/client
- Appropriately responding to and incorporating clients’ goals within the yoga classes
- Facilitating comprehensive intake process for new students/clients
- Maintaining confidential case files for private, semi-private, and small group students/clients
- Providing appropriate music playlists for yoga classes
- Arriving to in-person classes a minimum of 30 minutes before class start time
- Acting as an ambassador for all Kula Wellness Group offerings
- Attending Kula Wellness Group staff meetings and events
- Additional related tasks as requested by the Co-CEOs including but not limited to light cleaning of used spaces, setting up space appropriately, etc.

Required Qualifications

- Completion of a 200-hour yoga teacher training program (500-hour preferred)
- Registered as an RYT-200 (or greater) with Yoga Alliance
- Current CPR certification
- Currently active liability insurance or ability to obtain liability insurance
- Significant knowledge of yoga techniques and accessible options for all bodies
- Ability to walk around the room and demonstrate yoga poses relevant to class style
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to create connection and safety with students/clients
- Demonstrated capacity for responsibility, accountability, and collaboration with others
- Passionate about the intersection of mental health and physical health
- Access to reliable internet if/when leading classes remotely
- Must be age 18 or older
- Must be able to walk up 6 stairs (our offices do not have elevators)

Preferred Qualifications

- Work experience and/or education in a mental health related field
- Experience teaching 50+ yoga classes
- Experience in leading one-on-one yoga privates, semi-privates, and/or small groups
- Experience offering yoga classes with a therapeutic focus to support mental health and/or physical health
- Training and/or experience in Yoga Therapy

Salary

This is an hourly position, pay is based on experience and offerings.
